RITA MCWILLIAMS, AU.D.
Dr. Rita McWilliams is a board-certified and licensed audiologist. She holds her Doctoral Degree in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences. Rita also holds her certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well as her B.A. in Speech and Hearing and her M.A. in Audiology. Dr. McWilliams has worked with various professionals from Ear, Nose, and Throat physicians to private practices in Eureka, Auburn, and Redding California before opening her private practice in 1985. Dr. McWilliams is specialized in aural rehabilitation, tinnitus management, and many other ear and hearing loss issues. Her patients describe her as well-informed, warm, caring, and a compassionate person who truly cares about their hearing health. Outside of her private practice, Rita enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her parents and daughters.
KIRSTEN MCWILLIAMS, AU.D.
Dr. Kirsten McWilliams is Rita’s oldest daughter and grew up working in her mother’s practice. Even when she was 5 days old, she was already in the office meeting new patients. Kirsten received her B.S. in Psychology from UC Davis and worked as a Hearing Aid Dispenser for four years in the clinic with her mom. She quickly fell in love with Audiology and decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and pursue her Doctorate in Audiology. She graduated top-of-her-class from University of the Pacific in San Francisco’s doctorate program in 2018. During her graduate work, she developed superior skills and knowledge with internship rotations at Stanford, Kaiser, and a private ENT practice. She spent her fellowship year at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento where she gained experience in pediatric audiology, cochlear implants, vestibular evaluations, and diagnostic audiology. In her spare time, Kirsten volunteers as a Board of Directors member for the California Academy of Audiology, as a Northern California board representative and Legislative Liaison.
BRENNA PETERS, AU.D.
Dr. Brenna Peters is a clinical audiologist with specialized training in hearing conservation, tinnitus, and animal audiology. She obtained her doctorate in audiology (Au.D.) degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 2018 and received her bachelor’s in audiology and speech-language sciences in 2014. Her initial career plan was to become a speech-language pathologist as someone close to her struggled with speech processing, but then ended up pursuing audiology as she loved the coursework. Since graduating in 2018, Dr. Peters has worked at several ear, nose, and throat (ENT) practices — most recently in Portland, Oregon, prior to moving home to Redding to practice within her community. She is passionate about delivering research-based, patient-centered information. Her goal is to have patients leave the office feeling comfortable with taking control of their hearing health care. Outside of work, you will find Dr. Peters enjoying the outdoors alongside her husband and their golden retriever.
Morgan is Rita and Ron’s youngest daughter. Although she also grew up with the business she decided to study a different field, and received her B.A. in Design from UC Davis. Morgan oversees accounts receivable and insurance billing. In her personal time, Morgan enjoys cooking, working on her Masters degree online, and spending time with her pets.
Peach is Morgan’s 8 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who provides office support by greeting the patients, receiving belly rubs, and napping. Peach lost her hearing entirely when she was 3 years old, which makes her feel right at home in the office! While Peach spends most of her time napping, feel free to say hi to her when you stop in!
